* Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Project Planner providing a consultancy service to Project Managers and the Engineering functions regarding the preparation, monitoring and updating of project plans.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers in the construction of resourced project plans using Primavera in accordance with company standards and the project structure as identified by the Project Manager.
o Coordinate and chair resource planning meetings.
o Coordinate liaison with resource managers to ensure timely allocation and utilization of staff resources.
o Coordinate the production of detailed budgets consistent with resourced project plans.
o Coordinate, report on and analyse the status of project progress.
o Assist and advise in the reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team members.
o Advise on techniques for analyzing progress, identifying problem areas, establishing current position and forecasting trends.
o Report significant schedule slippages.
o Coordination of Cubic’s resource planning process.
o Coordination of earned value and critical path reporting process.
o Assist in the analysis of project costing reports.
o Assist/advise in reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team members.
o Assist the Bids and Proposals team as required in the preparation of proposals, including project/contract mobilization stage and engineering development stage.
o Ensure plans are accurate, realistic and consistent with estimates of costs to complete.
o Build credible relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, colleagues and project team members.
o Support the PMO and Head of Project Planning with monthly reporting requirements.
o Work in conjunction with Programme and Engineering Managers to establish robust schedules.
o Attend and contribute to project review meetings.
o Update Cubic’s planning standards/procedures and educate/train project managers in their use.
o Travel to customer and other Cubic sites for meeting attendance as and when required.
o Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures, including the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
o In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
* Minimum Job Requirements:
o Skills knowledge and experience:
Essential:
+ Experience of working in a busy Planning role.
+ Experience of working with planning software e.g. Primavera P6 & MS Projects.
+ Experienced in all aspects of Project Management including its effects on the implementation and delivery of project objectives.
+ Competent in creating and maintaining robust project plans throughout the entire project lifecycle.
+ Providing planning support to complex engineering projects.
+ Experience of working across large and complex project teams and with multiple parties (internal and external).
+ Experience of establishing and reporting earned value management processes.
+ Experience of working within an engineering or IT development environment.
+ Competent user of MS Office suite (Word & Excel, Primavera P6 and MS Projects).
o Education and qualifications:
Essential:
+ Degree or equivalent in a Project/Business discipline (or equivalent level of experience).
Desirable:
+ APM Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
+ Prince 2.
o Personal Qualities:

+ Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment.
