About the Role
As a Lead Developer you’ll work closely with the Product Development Manager to provide project leadership and direction to drive forward and deliver quality solutions across a variety of technologies.
Acting as a technical expert and project lead within the business, you’ll be involved in the mentoring and support of other developers within the team. You’ll also ensure that all development and code follows best practice and meets the relevant industry standards.
You’ll be required to understand and interpret technical specifications, and turn them into working code, using a mix of technologies.
Managing sprint planning and retrospective sessions, you’ll communicate technical and non-technical information across the business, as well as offering out-of-hours support during key periods. You’ll also work closely with other departments, negotiating effectively to ensure projects are being driven forward and are meeting business needs.
There are flexible working options available with this role, including home working.
Criteria
1. With exceptional coding and analytical skills you’ll have strong commercial experience in .NET framework, C# and developing with SQL Server. You’ll also have exceptional design skills for back-end systems architecture and front-end knowledge of MVC, Javascript and jQuery.
2. Experience in mentoring Junior Developers on development methodologies and optimisation techniques.
3. Highly organised, you’ll be able to effectively align and co-ordinate project aims and deliverables, while providing detailed estimates for large and complex technical solutions.
4. You’ll also be motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects and quickly identify and resolve any issues.
5. You’ll have impressive experience of thriving in a fast-paced technical environment and working to challenging deadlines. You’ll also be able to build and maintain productive relationships within your team and across the business.
6. Experienced working to the Agile and Scrum framework.
7. Passionate for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop innovative new ideas.
8. A team player who thrives in a fast paced, busy and challenging environment.
9. Well-balanced analytical skills, able to confidently present technical information in a structured and logical manner.
