Overview
Are you an experienced Project Manager with involvement in fraud, error or financial projects? Do you want to further develop your skills and expertise in a senior leadership role within a Fraud and Error context? If so, then our Systems and Process Lead role may be for you.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Systems and Process Team, which forms part of Social Security Scotland’s Fraud and Error Resolution Unit.
You will lead a small team which collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders across Social Security Scotland and the wider Scottish Government, Department for Work and Pensions, and other government departments. This collaboration will impact and support the implementation of change and drive the continuous improvement of fraud and error service provision.
This is a high-profile and exciting area, with continuing political, public and media interest.
This is a fixed-term appointment for 23 months.
Main Duties
• Lead the Systems and Processes team through implementation planning for remaining new benefit delivery projects, and other change/transition projects or system releases that impact fraud and error activity.
• As a senior leader within the Unit, develop and deliver the fraud and error service offering.
• Develop and build the capability and capacity of the Systems and Process Team, providing leadership and defining vision and strategy of the function.
• Play a key role in the identification of our target operating model and creation of a compelling investment case to deliver a programme of improvement activities within fraud and error operations to achieve target state.
• Develop and build strong working relationships within the Scottish Government, Social Security Scotland’s Chief Digital Office and Project Management Teams, to impact changes to systems, processes and controls, advise on design, facilitate any improvements and promote best practice.
• Critically evaluate business systems and processes to identify risks and improvement opportunities, drive and embed continuous improvement, and enhance financial control and efficiency across our business operation.
• Provide scrutiny and constructive challenge of any options appraisals, policy, system or process changes that impact on delivery of fraud and error objectives, to ensure requirements are understood and delivered and robust controls embedded in design.
