Here at Demelza we are looking for an experienced paediatric Occupational Therapist to cover maternity leave for up to a year, this is a part time role of 15 hours per week over 1 to 2 days. This could be as a bank or a temporary contract. Please note the role will not cover the work covered by statutory services but may include: •Assessment and support with charity applications for non-statutory equipment e.g car seats, wheelchairs on voucher schemes, tricycles, off road buggies. •Advocacy and support for families in liaising with other services •Supporting care staff with issues around ADL’s, sensory and behavioural needs ( in collaboration with the behaviour lead who is an LD nurse) •Therapeutic use of the sensory room •Support with incident/ accident reports as needed •Risk assessments e.g moving and handling in collaboration with Demelza Physiotherapist •Support with in-house Equipment •Training for care staff The role may require some travel depending on the referrals received, this could be South East London, Kent and East Sussex. Travel time and mileage expenses will be covered.
