Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 1 students. Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and independence. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets for development. Support students in developing their independent learning skills and guide them through their early educational journey. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum planning and delivery. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them updated on student progress and addressing any concerns. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required. Year 1 Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching Year 1 or in a primary school setting. Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods for Year 1.
