We have an exciting opportunity available for an individual who is looking to join our team as our newest Kitchen Assistant. Joining us on a full time basis, this role will provide crucial support to our busy Retreat team, covering 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. This position will cover a mixture of early and lates, providing a good work/life balance with one weekend on, one weekend off over two weeks. In return we will offer you an hourly pay rate of £11.44 per hour (increasing to £12 per hour if monthly targets are met), a place to develop your skills and the chance to work in some of the UK’s most stunning forest environments. Open all year round, as a Kitchen Assistant you will play a pivotal role assisting our Cook in the kitchen. You also get a friends and family discount giving them 15% off all breaks. Our Kitchen Assistant: Your responsibilities will be varied as we ensure you gain experience working within a busy kitchen. Full training will be given and this is an excellent way to fill out your CV with varied kitchen and catering experience, with training certificates to back it up. Responsibilities include some or all of the following: Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks Pot wash and table cleaning in the café Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items Providing assistance to Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed Our ideal Kitchen Assistant is passionate about the little details - you’re the kind of person who gets how important cleanliness is and is keen to help our busy Kitchen team achieve a smooth shift and have everything they need to work efficiently for our guests.
