Eveswell Primary School, in partnership with Somerton Primary School - Newport
Teaching Assistant L2 x2 - Grade 3. 32.5 hours per week. 39 weeks per year.
Fixed term temporary post
To start as soon as possible. Both will be based at Eveswell Primary initially, although we ask staff to be willing to support in our other school if employed for a longer term.
The governing body is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our high-performing schools. As a large and dynamic school which is embracing the development of the Curriculum for Wales, you will join a supportive and successful team. The school works closely with its partner school, Somerton Primary, to ensure high quality staff development and unique opportunities to learn from, and share practice, across more than one school. As such, you will be supported and encouraged to be part of a large team with a strong vision for excellence and an ambitious approach to achieving the best for all pupils at our two schools.
The successful candidate will:
1. have a proven track record of working successfully within primary phases and be prepared to work with either younger or older pupils
2. be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resilient
3. nurture pupils to reach their full potential
4. be committed to developing pupils as independent learners and thinkers
5. be a good communicator and team member, who is caring, flexible and approachable
6. be able to work collaboratively, contributing to teachers' planning and the learning environment
7. be reliable and able to take responsibility
