We have an exciting opportunity available for a SEN 121 Support Assistant to work as part of our team at Wooden Hill. We are looking for a nurturing person who will find reward in supporting our children’s learning and meeting their specific needs. A typical day for SEN 121 is varied and applicants can expect to support with a range of activities such as sensory circuits, class-based support, cleaning spaces, supervising breaks, and engaging learners in PE.
The successful candidate will:
* Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence
* Adapt communication style to respond to pupils according to their individual needs
* Support pupils with their social, emotional, and mental health needs, escalating concerns where appropriate
* Promote high standards of behaviour, responding to incidents in line with the school’s behaviour policy and guidelines on physical intervention
* Assist with the development and delivery of individual education and support plans
