Overall Purpose of the Role
The Rights Team is a central resource providing rights support and expertise to the FremantleMedia Group. The team is responsible for the upkeep of DPS (FM’s corporate rights database) and ensuring maximum exploitation of FM’s catalogue, both programmes and formats. The Department is the key point of contact for Production, SSC, Sales, Legal, talent unions and music collecting societies.
This role will provide key administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient management of the company’s rights portfolio and to maximise FMI’s exploitation of the Fremantle’s global programme catalogue.
Main Objectives of the Role
1. Create new programme records on the Distribution area of DPS as required ensuring accuracy of data and no duplication. Safeguard the quality of existing DPS data and ensure that new and updated data is synchronized where applicable.
2. Maintain Rights Team DPS WIP Spreadsheet.
3. Represent the Rights team in the continued implementation of the Vault (FM’s Global Programme Information System).
4. Create and update the programme records for US BUZZR Gameshow Channels backlog project.
5. Liaise with Rights Executives regarding new Fremantle Owned & Operated FAST Channels and record the required information on the Fremantle Owned & Operated FAST channels Greenlight Master document.
6. Ensure that there are regular updates regarding refreshes of the content on Fremantle Owned & Operated FAST Channels. Review the rights information for these refreshes and liaise with the Rights Executives as required and record all relevant information (rights end dates, restrictions etc.) on the relevant master spreadsheet.
7. Collaborate with the Rights Manager to implement and develop the process for monitoring new content requests for 3rd Party and Social Media Platforms.
8. Contribute to the general development of good systems and practices within the department.
9. Manage & maintain a clear concise WIP to provide an overview of workload, assist in prioritisation, monitor progress and provide information in the event of absence.
10. Assist with ad hoc projects as requested.
