Priority Candidates will be considered in the first instance Wigan Music Service HQ Park Road Hindley Wigan WN2 3RY Soulbury Scale 5-8 (SPA points) 22,928 - 24,939 SPA points per annum 18.5 hours per week Your role: As a key member of the Music Service leadership team, you will manage and deliver aspects of instrumental music education relating to the NPME2, the priorities of the Greater Manchester Music Hub and the local priorities of Wigan Music Service which align with the Wigan Council Deal for Children and Young People. You will take a strategic role which will feed into a busy programme of regular ensemble rehearsals, graded music exams, workshops, tours, festivals and large-scale performances within and beyond the borough for young musicians at all stages of their musical development. Working with other members of the leadership team and business support staff, you will make a significant contribution to the management and coordination of day-to-day instrumental teaching across approximately 120 schools in the borough. About you: We are seeking someone with a graduate level qualification, most likely in Music. QTS is essential. You will need to be an outstanding musician with relevant experience in instrumental music education. Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a proven ability to influence, act decisively and problem solve autonomously. You will have experience in organising day to day music service provision both in and out of the school environment and the confidence to lead on high profile standalone projects which may involve partner organisations. An awareness and understanding of Child Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity is essential.
