We are looking for a Head Receptionist to join our expanding team at Pets 1st Vets!
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week. Some Saturday cover may be required as we continue our recruitment process. The shifts will be 8 hours, ranging from 8:30 am start to 7:00 pm finish.
About the role
As Head Receptionist, you will be the face of our practice, greeting clients warmly, providing expert guidance, and ensuring seamless appointment scheduling and payment processing.
This pivotal role involves managing and developing our reception team to uphold our high standards of customer care. Collaborating closely with the Practice Manager and Clinical Director, you will contribute to business development initiatives and promote continuous improvement throughout our operations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Manage and organise the Reception team, including the rota and working in partnership with other key members of the Practice Management team.
2. Oversee all areas of reception and front of house to create a welcoming environment for clients and their pets.
3. To set an example of professional conduct at all times.
4. Support the Practice Management team with people processes and HR policies such as performance management, inductions, reviews, training, and continuing professional development, including your own development so key performance targets can be delivered to the highest standard.
5. Provide administrative support to the clinical team, utilizing Microsoft packages and email proficiently.
6. Deliver and review on-the-job training to the Reception team including regular 1:2:1s and monthly interactive team meetings.
7. Carry out regular audits of Reception processes and premises to review and improve standards.
8. Banking in line with group policy and covered by insurance levels.

1. Previous experience in a service-oriented role is essential, with management experience preferred.
2. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
