The team…
Gateshead Registration service provides services such as registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, notices of marriage and civil partnership, marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, naming and re-affirmation of vows ceremonies, citizenship ceremonies and the issue of copy certificates.
About the role…
Based at Gateshead Civic Centre, you will be required to work 2 days per week (1 day must be a Friday). The role is integral to the effective delivery of ceremonies in Gateshead where you will conduct marriage and civil partnership ceremonies in line with legislation including the registration and the issue of certificates. You will also attend Registrar General’s License wedding ceremonies at any location as required, which may include short notice attendance on occasions.
Your duties will include:
1. Undertaking duties at non-statutory ceremonies including supporting the delivery of British Citizenship Ceremonies.
2. Coordinating, supporting and participating in the development and marketing of the Registration Service, including the development of existing/new ceremonies.
3. Providing excellent customer service to ensure ceremonies are delivered to meet the needs of our customers.
4. Engaging with our approved premises and coordinating/planning/delivering marketing activities.

1. You’ll be paid a competitive salary £25,992 to £27,269 (pro rata 14 hours 48 minutes – 2 working days, one of the days must be a Friday).
