Location: Preferably 2 – 3 days based in Dunbar, EH42 1RR but we are open to remote working for an ideal candidate!
Salary: £35K - £45K per annum, Based on Experience and Qualifications
Contract: Full time, Permanent

We specialise in Marine fauna & underwater sound monitoring, Acoustical & statistical modelling, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) surveys, Environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
We work with industries across offshore wind, tidal, military, and Oil & Gas (O&G), providing world-class expertise.
We are looking for now recruiting for an experienced Senior / Principal Marine Environmental Consultant to join our team.
This role requires a deep understanding of offshore sectors, environmental impact assessments, licensing, and offshore equipment.
You will play a pivotal role in project management, stakeholder engagement, and technical consultancy.
As our Senior / Principal Marine Environmental Consultant you will be responsible for:
* Leading and contributing to world-class consultancy reports (peer-reviewed scientific-paper level)
* Providing expert mitigation advice for offshore industries
* Overseeing technical, financial, and contractual project management
* Engaging with clients and stakeholders, building long-term relationships
* Preparing tenders, proposals, and client reports
* Ensuring successful project delivery within budget and scope
* Innovating and applying novel solutions in O&G and renewable energy sectors
* Line management and mentoring of junior staff
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
* Fluent English skills (written & spoken) at an exceptional level
* Legally permitted to work in the UK
* Demonstrated track record of winning six to seven-figure tender opportunities and project managing all aspects of both desk-based and field studies.
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Marine Biology)
* Minimum 5 years (Principal) / 3 years (Senior) experience in environmental consultancy
* Experience working with O&G, wind, military, and/or tidal sectors in pre/post-consent project delivery
* Offshore fieldwork experience (e.g., MMO/PAM/Environmental Scientist).
* Prior project management and financial management experience.
* Expert use of Microsoft Office programmes (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize effectively, achieving results against tight deadlines.
* Genuine interest in the business and the industry.
* Commercially aware, discreet, and able to handle sensitive information.
It would be great if you had:
* Knowledge and experience of environmental surveys (e.g. water & sediment sampling, etc.).
* Experience managing personnel and teams.
* MMO and PAM training.
* Offshore survival certifications (e.g., BOSIET & medical).
* Full, clean UK drivers’ licence.
