This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a public health team operating in a unique environment across two Council areas and who are committed to delivering better outcomes for the people and communities of Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.
You will be joining the first joint public health team working across two Councils in the North East. This brings benefits and challenges; building relationships and visible leadership in both Councils is critical. We are looking for exceptional, driven and passionate individuals to join Public Health South Tees.
Role 1 – 37 hours per week
The full-time post is a joint post with our local NHS working within both Councils and across the local NHS, specifically South Tees Acute Hospitals NHS FT and our local Primary Care Networks, based at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Role 2 – 22.50 hours per week
The part-time post is to lead the Start Well elements of the mission-led Live Well South Tees Health and Wellbeing Strategy to reduce inequalities in attainment; improve education, training and work prospects for young people and improve mental health and outcomes for young people.
These posts are critical in our ambition to achieve longer and healthier lives for all our communities in South Tees.
We have an outstanding team and we are seeking Public Health Consultants who, in addition to having strong technical public health skills, have the experience and ability to lead and inspire this team, and build great relationships within the Councils and partners.
You will have the ability to articulate complicated issues in a way that engages and encourages participation to support the delivery of our emerging programmes. The ethos of our leadership team is to support people at all levels in the team to flourish.
You will have a desire to develop a confidence and interest in our areas of work that can shift public health from the margins to the mainstream to build change across policy areas, build on assets in communities in addition to considering services.
If you want to be part of a strong Leadership Team and want a place that helps you to develop your ideas and follow your passion - and if you have the tenacity, drive and ability to build interest with fellow travellers to develop those ideas into tangible outcomes for our communities, then we want to hear from you.
We aim to improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities and are committed to ensuring South Tees is a great place to live, work, play and visit. We are realistic about the scale of the challenges we face but are determined to succeed.
If you are an inspirational Public Health leader who is talented and ambitious and who can make a positive difference, helping us to achieve our vision, then we look forward to hearing from you.
