Sellick Partnership is delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a Director of Operations on behalf of the NHS Business Services Authority.
The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is a highly respected organisation responsible for providing a complex range of critical services to the NHS, Government and local health economies.
The NHSBSA manages its operational services through five diverse operational divisions, covering a portfolio of services to ensure smooth service delivery and transformation delivery.
Their goal is to provide a better experience for customers by making their services quicker and easier to use.
The NHSBSA has created this new Director of Operations role, to drive its long-term strategic vision, providing leadership and oversight to ensure the service delivers impactful and sustainable outcomes.

Main responsibilities of the Director of Operations:
* As the Director of the Operations, you will report into the Managing Director of Operations providing strategic and technical expertise to deliver a performance-focussed operation in your assigned division.
* The Director of Operations will work with unions, representative bodies, regulators, policy makers, and other key third-party decision makers, influencers, and organisations.
* You will be responsible for a diverse division of operations.
* This is a key role focused on inspiring, developing and empowering senior and skilled operational and delivery colleagues within your assigned division.
* Drive and optimise operational performance across an operational division, supporting the delivery of an ambitious growth strategy, providing strategic, technical and professional expertise, whilst maximising the use of resources within your given remit.
* Identify and implement significant efficiencies across your division's remit, communicating and embedding significant transformational policy and process changes, with a view to continuously improve service provision, performance and customer experience.
* Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with key external strategic partners and deliver appropriate customer strategies which considers user needs in relation to all aspects of NHSBSA services and ensure that the customer proposition is clearly understood and communicated.
Key accountabilities:
* Full end-to-end accountability for shaping the overall strategic direction of your operational division, contributing to developing strategic business plans, driving and leading operational performance improvement across the NHSBSA to deliver cost-effective, high-quality services.
* Using proven commercial experience to develop business models to aid the transition of NHSBSA services into a high-performing, sustainable commercial model.
* Providing high-level transitional and operational direction ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of your division which meets the needs of users and clients to agreed and set standards and financial targets.
* Driving digital transformational change across operational services to improve effectiveness and performance within the operational area.
* Working in close collaboration with colleagues in the Strategic Directorate to develop internal performance management systems to enable the organisation to adhere to and exceed plans, targets and standards.
* Developing a culture of appraisal, improvement and performance management to drive organisational success.
Person specification:
* Ability to work at a senior strategic level to lead and deliver operational performance excellence, grow existing operational services and develop new services to meet both business and customer needs.
* Skilled in developing and implementing strategic operational service and business plans.
* Proven contribution to high level decision making and policy development and developing and implementing information systems.
* Significant experience of leading an Operational service area with diverse customer base and service offering.
* Significant experience of contributing to organisational operational strategy and translating that into service deliverables.
* Extensive prior relevant and demonstrable experience working at a senior leadership level in a service delivery organisation delivering a complex operational agenda.
