Job Overview
The post-holder will work as a member of the Pathway Management Team and is responsible for providing a proactive information reporting and analytical service to support the 18 week target in line with the National Performance & Information Agenda.
Main responsibilities include analysis of data from hospital systems for the purpose of statutory, national and local returns and amendment of detail contained in reports. To communicate with Service Managers regarding the validation of patient pathways.
Main duties of the job
* To ensure that 18 week statutory and performance related reports are validated accurately and within the required deadlines.
* Ensure through data validating the RTT (Referral to Treatment) data reported to the Department of Health is accurate.
* Source, collect and validate accurate RTT (Referral to Treatment) data in accordance with agreed practices and standards.
You'll be working with a highly motivated self-sufficient team of staff who are responsible for ensuring that our Patient Pathways are reviewed and validated in line with national targets.

Essential criteria
* Diploma or certificate in IM&T or equivalent experience.
* Educated to GCSE level.
* IT skills to ECDL or equivalent standard qualification.
* Analytical approach to complex problem solving and make judgements on the data quality issues involved.
* To record errors and assist with training to resolve those errors.
* Ability to act on own initiative, assessing problems and queries and understanding which can be resolved and which must be passed on.
* Excellent written, keyboard and verbal communication skills.
* Team working skills to include the ability to assist colleagues to reach their maximum development potential.
* Able to use PC and associated office equipment. Standard keyboard skills and experience of manipulating complex databases.
* Able to deal with queries relating to data or information in order to train other Trust staff.
* Knowledge of current NHS issues relating to the RTT targets, waiting lists, patient activity data and the Trust Access Policy.
* Knowledge of Data Protection Act, Caldicott guidance and Freedom of Information Act.
