Care Leavers Transformation Lead
Location: West Midlands (minimum 2 days on-site per week, with flexibility)
Contract: 6-month interim contract
Salary/Rate: £400 - £450 per day Inside IR35
Start Date: Early to mid-April 2025
Interviews: Week commencing 17th March
About the Role
I am recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands that is seeking a Care Leavers Transformation Lead to drive service improvement and implement transformational change for care-experienced young people. This role is pivotal in reshaping the service, ensuring young people receive the right support at the right time to promote independence and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will lead a change programme, managing a team of Personal Advisors and social care professionals, while working closely with senior leadership to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead transformation: Oversee service redesign, ensuring care leavers receive timely and effective support.
2. Operational oversight: Directly manage three Team Managers, each overseeing teams of 6-9 staff.
3. Drive improvement: Implement findings from a recent LGA review and embed a strengths-based, trauma-informed practice model.
4. Collaborate effectively: Work alongside corporate parenting leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
5. Deliver at pace: Demonstrate measurable impact within a 6-month timeframe.
Essential Experience
1. Proven experience at Service Manager level or above.
2. Strong background in care leavers services and operational leadership.
3. Expertise in service transformation, improvement, and driving change.
4. Experience in implementing strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relational practice models.
5. Ability to lead a team through change and support staff in delivering improved services.
