Are you looking for an exciting role supporting an ever-changing business get data protection right? Can you help bring data protection concepts to life and explain how data protection principles work in reality?
We have an exciting new role for an experienced data protection professional to join the Asda Data Protection Operations team in our award winning Legal and Compliance Function. This role will manage the data protection operations processes including information requests, incident response and regulator contacts. This is a fixed term role covering a 12 month period to cover maternity leave.
Working within a dynamic and supportive team, you will:
* Business partner with areas to provide risk-based data protection advice and training to enable data protection by design.
* Complete Data Protection Risk Assessments and manage Records of Processing Activities for specified areas.
* Create and manage Data Protection related policies, standards, procedures and Privacy Notices.
* Liaise with Asda’s Cyber Security and Data Governance teams to support aligned ways of working across risk assessment processes, policies, standards and training.
* Oversee the data subject rights process, addressing escalations and providing advice. Reviewing the use of the OneTrust platform to manage data subject rights.
* Manage incident response process including maintaining records in the OneTrust platform.
* Managed regulatory contacts process including responding to enquiries and referred data subject complaints.
* Manage a data protection coordinator who administers data protection operations processes.

* Holds a degree level education in a relevant subject, or equivalent level of experience.
* Has an expert level of understanding of relevant UK Data Protection Laws and previous experience working in a data protection role.
* Holds a recognised data protection certifications e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT.
* Preferably has previous experience of working with data protection management software, such as Onetrust.
* Attention to detail and the ability to work well as a team player
* The ability to thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic business
* The willingness to offer ideas and solutions to the ever-changing needs of the team and business
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own diary effectively
* Great interpersonal skills and willingness to reach out to cross functional colleagues
