A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Waste Haulage Officer to join their Waste Management Delivery, Contracts, and Haulage Operations Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority and a waste management environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to manage key, high-value waste contracts (£3-£6 million), develop waste haulage services, and oversee operational commissioning processes from planning to implementation.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Managing a team, developing their skills and competencies to support changing priorities.
Overseeing and managing key waste contracts, including Bulk Haulage, Plant Equipment, Treatment, Recycling, Energy from Waste (EfW), and Landfill.
Preparing contract documentation, including specifications and invitations to tender, ensuring compliance with EU legislation and County Council procedures.
Managing and monitoring waste budgets effectively.
Identifying and developing new commercial opportunities to generate income and reduce costs.
The Candidate
