We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Midwife to join our Maternity Services team in West Midlands. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to women and their families throughout the maternity pathway, ensuring their involvement in decision-making during pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate women's involvement in decisions about their pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.
2. Deliver safe and effective midwifery care based on the latest evidence and guidelines.
3. Recognise deviations from normality and escalate appropriately.
4. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care.
5. Identify and act on safeguarding concerns related to women, unborn babies, and other children.
6. Maintain a high standard of clinical knowledge and keep updated on the use of clinical equipment.
7. Contribute to audits and provide statistical evidence related to Maternity-Led Unit (MLU) activity.
Requirements:
8. Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the NMC.
9. Strong knowledge of evidence-based midwifery care through CPD and practical experience.
10. Level 3 Child Protection training and solid understanding of child safeguarding, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
11. Experience in developing protocols, conducting audits, and managing obstetric and medical emergencies.
12. Excellent communication skills for working with patients, families, and colleagues, and handling complaints effectively.
