About the Role Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The pupil spends much of the day outside the classroom, requiring a dedicated TA to provide structured and engaging activities. This role is ideal for someone who can build trust, provide consistent emotional support, and encourage positive learning experiences. The position is long-term with the opportunity to become permanent. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with ASD and SEMH needs. Work outside the classroom for significant periods, using tailored learning strategies. Implement behaviour support techniques and encourage emotional regulation. Build a strong, positive relationship to enhance engagement and progress. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning plans. What We're Looking For Previous 1:1 SEN experience, particularly with Autism and SEMH. Strong resilience, patience, and adaptability to manage challenging behaviour. Physically active and able to engage in movement-based learning activities. Skilled in de-escalation techniques and relationship-building.
