Job Description We are currently seeking a 12 month fixed term, Customs Administrator based out of our Chippenham site. Customs Administrators are responsible for reviewing customer documentation to ensure all data sets required are present before commencing customs clearance. This includes, but is not limited to, checking information such as EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification Number), commodity codes, tariff information, customs procedures, licence requirements and any other formalities applicable to the movement. Completing import and export customs entries on behalf of our clients who rely on our skilled team for guidance and advice together with making sure entries are HMRC compliant. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm, flexibility may be required. Salary: Between £25,000- £28,000 pa Occasional travel to sites may be required. Duties And Responsibilities Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customers and AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) process Check all relevant customs and trade documents for customers Data administration and validation Tariff classification Submission of customs declarations using simplified, summary, and standard procedures Monitor shipment departure, arrival, and clearance statuses to ensure prompt release of shipment. Communication with internal stakeholders and customs authorities such as HMRC Forward customs release messages to clients and their representatives Create a file of the activity (transit, customs…) and supporting documents. Complete customs entries in an accurate and timely manner. Deliver a Customs-compliant service that meets HMRC standards. Engage in continuous personal development activity to keep your knowledge on customs policies, regulations, laws and customs procedures up to date. Performs other related activities that may be assigned by immediate supervisor. What will you bring? Previous administration experience is essential. You are computer literate and Microsoft Office packages, proficient. You have excellent attention to detail. You are customer-oriented. You have good communication skills.
