Job Title: Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Reading\n\nSalary: Up to £50,000 + Package \n\nContract Type: Permanent \n\nMy client is a growing T1 contractor who work on some of the UKs largest infrastructure projects and clients.\n\nAs an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and the Company's objectives. You will also liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments.\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nSalary up to £50k + Package \nFlexible working arrangements\n5% Company pension contribution\nLife Assurance at 2 x notional salary\nSingle person's private medical cover\nPermanent Health Cover\nCompany Profit Share Scheme\nCompany car / or car allowance \nCareer Development and ongoing training\nStaff Referral Scheme\n25 days annual leave with additional loyalty days (Full-Time equivalent)\nVolunteering Scheme\nEnvironmental and Social Value initiatives \n\nKey responsibilities:\n\nEnsure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level\nEnsure accurate cash flow reporting takes place\nCarry out cost management including forecasting\nUpdate the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans\nHelp ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit\nActively seek to improve processes and procedures\nHold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used by any JV/Alliance that we are working within, and assist in their development and improvement\nHelp ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate with commercial risks identified\nEnsure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions\nBuild and maintain good client relationships\nBe responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting\nPrepare applications for payment\nLiaise with the client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments\nContribute towards effective interaction between the Commercial Team and the operational site team\nWork with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensure that both are kept in line with the target\nShare best practices with others and be proactive in advising site teams on costs and management of them\nAbility to challenge resources and costs\nMaintain deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar \n\nWhat We Are Looking For\n\nEssential:\n\nFull driving licence \nPrevious experience in the construction industry\nHND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying\nFamiliarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law\nPrevious experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations.\nAbility to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.\nHave knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.\nExcellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office\nExcellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlinesDesired:\n\nDegree-qualified or equivalent, or with relevant experience and knowledge.\nExperience in the water sector \nCSCS card holder.If this opportunity if of interest, please apply!\n\nRandstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
