Our in-house construction team, Alderley Partnerships, operates under JCT D&B contracts, delivering high-quality projects across England. We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team within Alderley Group and Alderley Partnerships, based at our office in South Kensington, London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of financial operations and contribute to the Group’s continued growth. About the Role As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial processes across Alderley Group and Alderley Partnerships. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will ensure that the Group’s finance operations run smoothly, while also maintaining strong relationships with external consultants and stakeholders. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, offering the opportunity to drive operational improvements and governance and operational efficiency. Please note this is a 5 Days per week office-based role. Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day financial operations across Alderley Group and Alderley Partnerships. Assist the Group Financial Controller with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Manage the Group’s financial records and reporting processes. Reconcile payroll and manage intercompany transactions and bank reconciliations. Payments: Handle payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and external consultants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure all payments and invoices are recorded in line with financial procedures. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, providing analysis to guide decision-making. Compliance & Reconciliation: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal procedures. · Assist with Xero Finance System redesign and implementation of process improvement for the accounting function. Proactively support the Group Financial Controller in identifying opportunities to build out the governance framework, including developing internal control policies and procedures. Contribute to Change Management and Benefits Realisation initiatives to drive forward Alderley’s business priorities and ensure alignment with investor expectations. Collaboration & Communication: Liaise with project teams to track costs and ensure alignment with budgets. Act as a point of contact for financial queries from internal departments and external stakeholders. What You’ll Need Experience: Proven experience in a finance management or similar role, preferably from an Accounting Practice. Strong understanding of financial processes and management accounting. Skills: Advanced Proficiency in Xero accounting software and preferably Xero Certified. Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills.
