Position Description:
APRL are growing in the support for the research and development programmes, we are currently engaged in projects across both our Power Electronic and ICE capable facilities.
As these projects come online we are also obliged to the university to market the facility to 3rd parties through the conditions of the UKRPIF grant. The Incremental capacity demand within APRL to enable BEV 3.0, ICE and third party workload, demands the test system automation structure to be effectively managed and integrate in relation to test scripts, PUMA files and additional software such as CAMEO, INCA, dSpace, IndiCOM etc. To support this capability which is essential to operations requires a permanent resident engineer to enable and maintain laboratory capability
Skills Required:
* Knowledge of AVL test systems and IT integration
* Cameo experience
* AVL PUMA experience
* Develop and implement data management strategies to streamline data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
Experience Required:
* High level of competence with AVL Puma Open 1.5.3 including: knowledge of the 5 main blocks used (SYS, TFP, UUT, PAL and TST) scripting
* (MS Basic and AVL scripting environment) operational issue and breakdown resolution operation from a Santorin Host Puma Open system configuration
* Extensive experience in the automotive testing environment, including ICE, Hybrid, and EV systems.
* Strong understanding of electronic integration into mechanical control systems.
* Demonstrated ability to take technical leadership and own outcomes at all levels.
Experience Preferred:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
* Experience in test data management and automation of test reporting.
* Experience with CAN protocols, proficiency in using INCA, and familiarity with Vector measurement tools and software
* Proven ability to maintain and update existing test systems and frameworks, particularly those involving AVL Puma equipment.
* Expertise in managing and organizing test data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand testing requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
