Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Living Places team as a Winter Maintenance Driver based in Telford and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.
What you'll be doing
Required to take part in the Winter Service Delivery, ensuring the highway is salted in preparation for cold/icy conditions keeping the highway safe for general users, as well as the removal of snow in such conditions.
All works undertaken by the Winter Maintenance Operative / Driver must be completed to the required Health, Safety and Quality standards. You will be required to be available on a standby rota every other week as a minimum.
Technical / Operations:
* Ensure that all Daily vehicle Checks are undertaken and reported.
* Conduct winter gritting activities against required quality standards.
* Perform driving activities to assigned Winter Maintenance Routes.
* Ensure the work is completed right first time.
* Compliance with all fleet movement procedures at the operational depot.
