Purchasing Administrator Basildon Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 gap construction are pleased to be supporting a well-established regional housebuilder in their search for a motivated Purchasing Administrator to join their Basildon office. The successful candidate will provide strong administrative support to the purchasing team. If you're organised, detail-oriented, and have an interest in a long-term career with room for progression, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities: Handle and screen phone calls and emails, ensuring Heads of Department's time is used effectively. Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders, including collating information and inputting data into the Companies Information System. Prepare enquiry packs and tender documents, ensuring they are accurate and in line with company procedures. Monitor supplier deliveries and chase up any late or missing deliveries to ensure materials are on site when needed. Maintain and update supplier records, including managing SMAS and insurance details. Assist with cost reports and support procurement staff in producing PowerPoint presentations for internal and external meetings. Organise and arrange meetings, ensuring participants have all relevant documentation ahead of time. Ensure that all purchase orders are tracked, and any issues are flagged up and resolved promptly. Manage the ordering of materials, including replacements for customer care maintenance and urgent material requests from sites. Prepare material order files for site managers, ensuring all contact details and delivery schedules are up to date. Issue contra-charges and follow up on outstanding invoices for approval. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.Person Specification: Numerically literate with strong attention to detail. Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. Previous administration or purchasing experience is advantageous. Proficient in IT systems and office software, with the ability to prepare presentations and reports as needed.
