Our Children’s Services is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. We are dedicated to creating an environment where social work practice can thrive, where Social Work teams are encouraged to be innovative and creative to ensure the services we offer to children and families help improve their lives.
In the Through Care Team, you will be leading a small team of social workers who specialise in responding to, co-ordinating and delivering social care services to children and young people in care. You will join two other Team Managers and will work collaboratively with our Care Experienced Team Managers to support children and young people transition into adulthood.
As Team Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that our social workers feel supported and that high quality practice is delivered to children and families. You will demonstrate strong but compassionate leadership and provide a nurturing environment where practice will flourish to contribute to positive outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
You will receive excellent support and join a welcoming, supportive senior management team.
To be considered for interview, you will:
* Have a relevant social work qualification
* Be registered with Social Work England
* Have substantial experience as a senior social worker or in a management level social work role
* Have a strong track record of overseeing staff and performance
* Have compassion and an understanding of the needs of children and families
* Have extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices
* Be an excellent communicator

The Council has a visa sponsorship license and is therefore able to offer certificates of sponsorship to non-UK residents through the skilled-worker route for this role. Please note that the certificate of sponsorship alone is not a visa: an individual will still need to apply for and receive their visa to have the Right to Work in the UK.
