Hays are working with a leading Scottish University to recruit a Senior Integration Developer.
Job Purpose
Design, develop, implement, and maintain core corporate business information systems across the administrative, teaching, and research functions. Lead the delivery of substantial technology solutions to maximize service quality and efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead Investigations: Initiate and document complex system requirements, ensuring technical solutions meet user needs and add value.
* System Design & Development: Design, develop, and test new systems, ensuring they meet user requirements.
* Architecture & Security: Oversee architectural and security aspects of system design and implementation.
* Platform Management: Implement, upgrade, maintain, and support the Enterprise Integration Platform (Boomi).
* Expert Advice: Provide expert advice and respond to support calls from staff and students.
* System Support: Ensure consistent availability and performance of existing systems.
* Team Management: Plan and manage the work of others, including mentoring less experienced team members.
* Communication: Liaise with third-party suppliers, government bodies, and university offices regarding regulations.
* Training & Development: Attend training courses and conferences to stay updated with new technologies.
* Technology Evaluation: Evaluate new technologies and deliver familiarization sessions to improve productivity.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
* Professional knowledge and management skills in a similar role or equivalent qualifications (SCQF level 9, 10, or 11).
* Extensive knowledge of enterprise integration tools, middleware technologies, and application/data integration patterns.
* Knowledge of service-oriented architecture design and enabling technologies.
* Understanding of key infrastructure technologies and protocols.
* Knowledge of Agile development practices.
* Understanding of FOI and DPA legislation.
* Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and relational database management systems.
* Experience with Boomi platform integrations.
