On behalf of our client, a well-established national business within the construction industry, Kingston Recruitment are currently looking to source an experienced Buyer to join on an initial temporary contract with potential to become permanent. This role is best suited to candidates who are available immediately with this in mind.
Working from offices based in West Hull, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the Regional Buyer in procurement administration, policy, procedure compliance, and the reporting and control aspects that fulfil material and site procurement.
Duties:
1. Assist in managing supplier partnerships and service levels to ensure that all contractual terms are met and that orders are placed in line with Group policy and procedures.
2. Assist in the process of determining, agreeing, recording and scheduling site start programmes and associated procurement activity timescales and requirements.
3. Assist the Regional Buyer to ensure that all bulk, plot specific and variation material and plant orders are placed in a timely fashion aligned to agreed KPIs and that these comply with the production requirements, specifications, group deals and order approval processes.
4. Ensure that supplier ordering, delivery and invoice queries are efficiently dealt with and resolved effectively and that the overall level of queries do not become unacceptable or counter-productive to the efficient operation of the buying function.
5. Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders in support of the development and maintenance of effective working and supplier relationships.
6. Assist in the production of key procurement information and the provision of added-value support to the region.
7. Assist in the collating supply chain KPIs, including forklift operating data, weekly plant reports and material on site schedules for submission to the Group Commercial & Procurement team.
8. Actively support the delivery of site and build procurement programme requirements and ensure that requisitions, orders and invoice queries for sites are in line with agreed KPIs.
Hours of Work:
36.5 hours
Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5pm
Friday 8:30am – 4pm.
