Behavioural Support Assistant
Location: Pontypridd Area.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome behavioural challenges and supporting their emotional and social development.
As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of behavioural needs, ensuring they are given the tools and strategies to thrive in an educational setting. You will work closely with teachers, ALNCO (Additional Learning Needs Coordinators), and other support staff to provide tailored assistance that promotes positive behaviour and helps students develop their social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom.
Implement strategies and interventions to encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging behaviour.
Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all pupils.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils as required.
Foster positive relationships with students to build trust and encourage confidence.
Promote a respectful and nurturing school atmosphere where all pupils can thrive.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people, particularly in a behavioural support or special educational needs setting.
A compassionate and patient individual with a strong desire to help students succeed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff and management.
A proactive and positive approach to problem- solving.
Relevant qualifications (not essential but desirable)
Welsh Speaking (not essential but desirable)
