As the face of Tesco out on the road, we deliver all the way from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Our Customer Delivery Drivers get the opportunity to meet and talk to different customers in their homes every day. That’s why this role is about much more than just driving: it's about helping others and delivering great service, with a smile.
It’s hands-on, physical, and full of variety. No two shifts are ever the same, and our customers seek help in all kinds of different ways. Most of the day, you’ll feel like your own boss, delivering to your customers, but there is always a team of Managers and colleagues back at base ready to support you when needed.

You will be responsible for
1. Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organized.
2. Leaving the customer's yard clean, tidy, and free of rubbish, and picking up litter as you see it.
3. Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
4. Loading the van as required and checking the van for roadworthiness.
5. Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions, offering refunds if they are unhappy.
6. Taking care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
7. Explaining to customers that they will not be charged more for substitutions.
8. Delivering within the customer's specified time slot.
9. Calling the customer before arriving early.
10. Calling the store if running 30 or more minutes late.
You will need
1. Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure our store is the best it can be for customers.
2. Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say ‘Thank you’.
3. Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
4. Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work life.
5. Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how to improve our store for customers.
6. Hold a UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
7. Adhere to the GB Domestic Driving Rules.
