Day-to-day of the role: Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom. Encourage pupils to interact with their peers and participate in activities that boost their self-esteem and independence. Apply strategies to foster pupil independence and self-confidence. Provide effective feedback to pupils on their progress and achievements. Occasionally support pupils with Learning Support Centre (LSC) needs. Administer medication following appropriate training, in line with Local Education Authority (LEA) and school policies. Assist the teacher by providing detailed feedback on pupils’ achievements, progress, and challenges. Liaise with the classroom teacher to coordinate on short-term planning and specific learning objectives. Monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and maintain accurate records as required. Support the implementation of school policies related to positive pupil behaviour and learning attitudes. Administer routine tests and handle clerical and administrative tasks within the department. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a teaching assistant role or similar educational support capacity. Strong understanding of classroom duties and pupil support. Ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to promoting inclusion and pupil independence.
