What You'll be doing:
KBS Maritime is seeking a strategic and analytical Finance Business Partner / Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in driving business performance and providing financial expertise to support strategic initiatives.
The Finance Business Partner/Senior Management Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for leading our Core Finance function. You'll also take ownership of 2 reports, with one Management Accountant directly, and one Assistant Management Accountant indirectly, assisting with their ongoing development.
Responsibilities will include the oversight of Core finance month-end close, Balance Sheet control, P&L review & commentary, assistance with and preparation of forecasts & budgets, and driving commercial decision-making. This will support the wider business via one-to-one business partnering with operational heads and cost centre managers in the Service Delivery, Technical Advisory Services & Overheads spaces.
You'll Have:
Ideally, you'll have prior employment experience within the defence sector or construction services, coupled with exposure to preparing management accounting transactions for a complex organisation. You'll also have demonstrable experience explaining financial results to non-specialists and must be highly IT literate (proficient in MS Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
Familiarity with SAP B1 or experience in other complex ERP systems is desired, along with proven experience in statutory reporting processes, including the provision of information to auditors. You should be a qualified CCAB accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA); QBE/PQ may also be considered.

You'll also have a strong ability to support management decision-making with actionable commercial insight, have an analytical mindset, and be highly organised and comfortable working in a strong control environment.
Aligned with the above, you will show willingness to challenge established practices to drive performance improvements and be an advocate of promoting teamwork & collaboration across the organisation.
By remaining flexible to an ever-changing environment, you will employ a customer-centric ‘can do' attitude within the team ensuring that the customer's needs are met. Lastly, you will demonstrate excellent collaboration with various internal and external customers which will be critical for creating a team delivery ethos and ethic.
