We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to organise and coordinate all aspects of the transport function, providing key support to the Hire Department and Sales Director.
This will involve a variety of tasks, focussing on delivery and collections, fuel scheduling, booking external haulage including purchase order arrangement, staff management and training, maintaining product knowledge and arranging for the upkeep of all vehicles.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time, helping to continue our growth and delivering first class customer service.
What you’ll need:
• Previous managerial/supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proven ability to prioritise workload while working to strict deadlines
• Full driving licence ideally with class 2 category and full CPC qualification
• Excellent understanding and experience of managing health and safety practices in the workplace
• Plan and schedule transport routes to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Coordinate with drivers and workshop staff to facilitate timely deliveries.
• Monitor transport activities and proactively address any issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transport activities, including logs and reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
• Optimize transport operations to reduce costs while improving service levels.
• Proven experience in transport planning or logistics.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in transport management software and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to transport.

Our working week is 44 hours Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.15pm.
