We are actively recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for a expanding power generation business in Sheffield
Responsibilities
• Working with the Engineering Director, CTO and other engineers to develop and test concepts
• Creating CHD models for containerised production systems.
• Sizing equipment and creating specifications of equipment for vendors.
• Creating general assembly drawings
• Performing mechanical stress calculations to ensure correct specifications.
• Liaising with vendors.
• Managing technicians to help with mechanical fitting of components
• Ensuring designs and built systems/components are compliant with relevant legislation/standards.
• Supporting other colleagues in running equipment
• Assist the engineering team to design, specify and source components
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or HNC/HND qualification
• Minimum 3 years working in an engineering design environment.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment developing first-of-kind technology.
• Experience in relevant software packages for drawings creation and management (e.g. SolidWorksand AutoCAD).
Desirable qualifications/experience:
• Experience generating CE/UKCA files.
• Previous experience working with Hydrogen or other flammable gases in an ATEX/Ex environment.
• Experience with solids handling systems to move solid particles in a high temperature ATEX/Ex environment.
The Offer
Salary £40,000 - £50,000
