SEMH Teaching Assistant – Grantham Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire Job Type: Teaching Assistant (Flexible & Long-Term Opportunities) Salary: £120.90 per day Hours: 8:15am-4:30pm Milk Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist school in Grantham. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to thrive in their education. Key Responsibilities: * Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning. * Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and implementing individual education plans (IEPs). * Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional and academic support. * Promote positive behaviour and social development. * Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment. * Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Requirements: * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable. * A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting students. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. * A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology, Youth Work) is advantageous but not essential. * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
