Key Worker - Housing First Chesterfield – Permanent, Full Time

Our Housing First service in Chesterfield provides a secure home to people who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to other complexities, which may include mental health conditions, substance misuse or offending behaviour. More about the role:
Our aim is to provide stable, independent home and intensive personalised support to homeless people with multiple and complex needs following the Housing First principles and model of support. The role can be challenging and is highly rewarding.
To be successful, you will:
* Equip our customers with personal, social, vocational and practical life skills; enabling them to take control of their life, live independently within the community and successfully manage their tenancy
* Have a full driving license and access to a vehicle
* DBS check required
* Demonstrate an understanding of the needs and risks our customers experience and an understanding of how to develop plans of support to overcome these
* Use a strengths-based approaches to support individuals to realise their potential.
Who you are:
You will demonstrate enthusiasm about helping others, be approachable and encouraging with customers to achieve their goals. The successful candidate will need to:
* Have experience of supporting vulnerable people in the community and working closely with partner agencies
* Demonstrate an understanding of the needs and risks our customers experiences and develop plans to overcome these
* Be a great communicator both verbally and in writing
* Have a creative approach to problem solving
* Be able to use a wide range of digital software
* Great organisation and observational skills
* Possess a positive "Can Do" solution focused attitude to fit in with a small team and build on the successes of this excellent service

Our Benefits
* Starting Salary: £22,389 per annum (pro-rata) plus Essential Car User allowance of £94.36 per month plus mileage expenses dependant on holding a full driving license and access to a vehicle
* Working hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday
