Salary: £45,000-£50,000

Responsibilities
Develop, review, and update HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Implement HSE policies across all departments and sites, providing guidance and support to employees at all levels
Line Management responsibilities for HSE Advisor and Internal Trainer
Conduct regular performance reviews for members of the HSE team, providing constructive feedback on individual performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Set clear goals and objectives for team members, monitoring progress and providing feedback and support as needed.
Oversee the scheduling of holidays and manage employee absences, ensuring adequate coverage for essential HSE functions
Support operational departments in ensuring COSHH compliance including the maintenance of the company COSHH register.
Assist with and/or complete regular formal safety inspections and internal audits as required across all depots and field-based operations.
Lead and coordinate occupational hygiene monitoring, including noise and air quality assessments as required.
Support operational departments in the ongoing monitoring of employee exposure to vibration and noise, providing guidance on exposure limits and implementation of proportionate control measures.
Support members of the management team and process owners in the investigation of accidents, near misses and incidents to establish root cause, identify corrective actions and potential improvement opportunities.
To support the company in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and other requirements inclusive of our ISO certified QHSE Management Systems.
To provide expert, professional health and safety advice, guidance, and support to all interested parties.
Work in collaboration with operational departments to ensure all activities have been adequately risk assessed, with safe systems of work being agreed, communicated, and understood.
Support Human Resources department in delivering health and safety inductions, including manual handling and DSE training for all new employees.
Lead health and safety committees and cross-functional working groups.
Prepare toolbox talks, safety alerts, and internal news items to a variety of internal stakeholders as and when required.
Take responsibility for managing own performance and to participate in any identified training or development opportunities.

Comply with Company Codes of Conduct, policies, and procedures at all times.
Skills and Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* 5+ years’ experience in a similar position.
* A recognized health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
* A formal recognised environmental qualification such as NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental Certificate.
* Membership of a professional body such as IOSH or IEMA.
* Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or construction environment.
* Strong communicator and the ability to positively influence others.
Desirable
* CSCS card and/ or Quarry Passport holder.
* Previous experience of working to internationally recognised standards including ISO 45001 and Internal auditor qualified to a recognised standard (ideally ISO 45001).
* DSE assessor qualified (or willing to complete training on taking on the role).
