The Friarage Surgical Centre will be a fast-paced environment delivering a range of surgical specialties over a 6-day period (Monday - Saturday). Working hours will vary between 0800-2100, and work patterns are subject to service demand.
Team members will receive full training to enable them to rotate through a range of surgical specialties within various job roles to ensure their professional and personal development is maintained.
Working in close collaboration with our main theatre department at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, staff may take advantage of training opportunities while providing clinical support.

The new facilities will have 6 large ORs, 2 minor ORs, a dedicated 2-bay regional anaesthesia room, and 12-bay recovery and admission and discharge areas. The staff areas feature dedicated Surgical Centre staff changing facilities, staff rest areas with landscaped gardens and a roof terrace, and a purpose Resource/Training room. A range of state-of-the-art equipment and digital technology will be available throughout the build to ensure staff are fully equipped to deliver the best quality of care.
As a registered theatre nurse or ODP, you will be an active member of the perioperative team providing exceptional, safe, and efficient care to patients. Using clinical skills, autonomy, and judgment, you will provide hands-on care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures and anaesthesia techniques.
