Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Childcare Sufficiency Officer Salary: £36,233 Location: Aylesford/Hybrid This is a part-time (22.2 hours per week) 12-month Fixed Term Contract that is due to end on 31/03/26 At The Education People, we are dedicated to ensuring children and families have access to high-quality holiday childcare. We are seeking a HAF Childcare Sufficiency Officer to support the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF), ensuring there are sufficient childcare places to meet demand. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with childcare providers, community groups, and key stakeholders to develop sustainable provision. As a HAF Childcare Sufficiency Officer, you will: Monitor and analyse childcare provision, using data to identify gaps and proactively develop new childcare places. Support providers in setting up and expanding childcare services, offering guidance on business and financial planning. Advise on HAF Programme grant funding applications and ensure compliance with DfE and KCC audit requirements. Work collaboratively with local authorities, multi-agency partners, and community organisations. Keep up to date with HAF Programme regulations and ensure all childcare providers adhere to statutory requirements. Monitor the uptake and sustainability of childcare places, supporting providers in maintaining long-term viability. What We’re Looking For: NVQ Level 5 in Business Support or NVQ Level 3 in Early Years, Childcare, or Play Work (or equivalent). Experience in developing and managing childcare, youth, or community services. Strong understanding of business and financial planning for childcare providers. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collate and analyse data, creating insightful reports and presentations. IT and Excel proficiency, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and financial templates. Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and their impact on childcare business sustainability.
