Job summary The post holder will be based in the Head & Neck Unit under the supervision of Prof Vinidh Paleri,. The post is cross site at the Sutton site and Chelsea sites of the Royal Marsden. The consultants on the team are Professor Cyrus Kerawala, and Professor Dae Kim. In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post, the appointee will be required to demonstrate that they have experience in the surgical management of Head & Neck cancers. The post-holder will develop the following experience during the tenure of the post: Clinical Management of Head & Neck Cancers Presentation, publication and peer review Audit and guideline development Main duties of the job Develop clinical research skills in order to propose, design and develop academic institutional and/or multicentre clinical trials with support from the consultants and experienced statisticians and trial managers working within the Head and Neck -oncology unit Develop grant writing skills for peer reviewed funding and/or endorsement of academic clinical and translational studies. This includes understanding how to appropriately cost a study and attribute the costs of healthcare research as required by major research funders Develop skills to design translational research protocols in collaboration with clinician scientists and statisticians About us The Royal Marsden is a world leader in cancer research, treatment and education.
