DWF are seeking an Associate to join our market leading Finance and Restructuring team in Leeds as we continue to add depth and strength to our team and offering.
With over 100 years of combined experience, our Finance and Restructuring team are able to help our clients manage risk, whilst bringing a strong understanding of transactions and a sense of commercial pragmatism to every matter.
Our multi-disciplinary approach means we have the ability to draw in experts from across the business which includes experts in tax, Mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity and Real Estate Finance.
The Real Estate Finance team acts for lenders and borrowers and handles work including development finance and portfolio funding, with a particular focus on student accommodation and hotels.
As an Associate in this team, you can expect to participate in high-quality work from and with clients operating across a variety of business and asset sectors. This work is underpinned by a supportive and collegiate working environment and team.
Responsibilities
* Advise on banking and finance transactions with a primary focus on real estate financing.
* Provide advice to clients across all sectors and multiple jurisdictions, helping them manage risk while ensuring commercial targets are reached.
* Manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Deliver high-quality, technically precise, and commercially focused advice to clients with an excellent level of service.
* Maintain your knowledge of the relevant practice and stay up to date with current sector and market trends.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
* Qualified solicitor with significant experience of acting for both lenders and borrowers on real estate finance transactions.
* Experience working on real estate finance transactions or general finance and banking with a REF focus.
* Commercially minded with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to demonstrate technical and commercial expertise.
* A collaborative approach to building and developing relationships with clients and colleagues.
Desirable
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* The desire to deliver a top client service across a range of sectors.
* A positive, friendly, supportive and collegiate approach to working with others.
