For this role, you will be primarily responsible for handling requests for quotes from our customers, following up on quotations/technical/general enquiries, targeting new prospects, expanding business with dormant and existing customers and engaging directly with clients to deliver exceptional customer service. This role would suit candidates who have a sound practical engineering or electronic knowledge/background or qualification within the Electrical/Electronic/Power Generation discipline and have held roles like Technical Sales Associate, Applications Engineer, or a Sales Engineer.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and target new business prospects
2. Expand business with dormant and existing accounts
3. Prepare detailed cost estimates and build competitive, customer-specific proposals.
4. Create service, parts and new product quotes and maintain consistent follow-up communication with customers.
5. Identify current and future customer service requirements.
6. Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, new information is added, and accurate call/visit logs are entered.
7. Research and analyse market trends, including parts pricing, and competitor offerings.
8. Liaising with customers and internal departments throughout the front-end planning ensuring timely service delivery.
9. General and technical administration and support.
10. Provide technical expertise and application support throughout the sales lifecycle.
11. Attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences, requiring occasional travel.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
1. Proven experience in technical sales - Electrical engineering / electrical rotating machinery.
2. Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial).
3. Proficient in using MS Office is essential.
4. Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organisational levels.
5. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
6. A logical, analytical, and strategic approach to sales.
7. Ability to research and analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing strategies.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
9. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
10. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
