WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is to lead all die engineering activities within the Press Shop including the launch of new dies within both Castle Bromwich Press Shop and Solihull Press Shop.
Provide assistance to the press lines to maximise production efficiencies, all associates on shift. The use of problem-solving techniques will be required in order to improve the performance in throughput & the quality of Stamped BIW parts & dies that are away from target. The role will also oversee engineering requests such as engineering change, die design support.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Comply with Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved
2. Analysing production data to create and drive activities to eliminate quality concerns caused by die for both BIW and internal scrap/rework
3. Pro-active approach to analysing line performance and driving the activities to make the relative improvements
4. Feeding back all known die engineering concerns into the Engineering team for future tooling
5. Lead feasibility, cost & the introduction to engineering change requests from internal & external requests
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Experience of press tool design, methods and technologies
2. Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout the pressed parts process chain
3. A good level of business acumen
4. Practical Problem Solving
5. Experience of working with trade unions
