Job Description
The Director of Sales & Marketing role is the commercial leadership position and a senior leader within the Executive Committee of the hotel. This role is responsible for direct oversight of driving topline revenue performance for the business and for developing and articulating the strategic business plans and revenue generating programs for the hotel to maximize returns and establish Cambridge House as a leading hotel in the market. This role will be responsible for delivering sales goals for all segments (Entertainment & Leisure, Business & Corporate, Group & Events) by building and deploying a high-caliber sales team with an effective sales strategy for key source markets.
* Lead the annual business planning process for the hotel working with the Director of Communications, Director of Revenue Management, and Director of Finance.
* Be the key point of contact to communicate commercial and revenue generating strategies and action plans with the hotel ownership group.
* Responsible for driving top line revenues in all sales segments - leisure, group, corporate, and catering.
* Responsible for development and deployment of all trade and B2B marketing strategies.
* Provide strategic oversight of sales managers to ensure targets are being achieved.
* Understand market trends, create demand generation, find ways to shift market share, and work closely with revenue management.
* Develop and implement a business plan together with the Director of Revenue and the Director of Communications and manage the annual sales budget to ensure the hotel is achieving revenue targets.
* Develop and manage key strategies for all disciplines and create action plans for key accounts for business growth and development.
* Strong understanding of Smith Travel Report (STR), Financial P&L, mix of sales, forecasting, group pace, group and catering contracts, addendums, and food/beverage spend for groups.
* Work in close collaboration with the Global Sales teams in the US and EMEA.
* Co-develop sales goals for all managers.
* Guide sales team on travel and sales activities.
* Be available to meet clients, both corporate and social, any day of the week, by scheduling site inspections and meeting with walk-in prospective clients to show and describe rooms and services.
* Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals by ensuring repeat business through positive customer relationship management and prospecting for new business.
* Work closely with Auberge Resorts Global Sales team worldwide to optimize activation of brand opportunities.
* Develop new accounts in the corporate group business segment from within assigned sales territory.
* Guide the team and take full responsibility to plan and execute on all aspects of B2B marketing in support of sales activities, ensuring coordination with the Director of Marketing.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of work experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing within luxury hospitality.
* Hotel opening experience in a senior leadership role.
* Experience building teams to successfully launch in an urban market for a global luxury brand.
* Strong aptitude in financial management, financial reports, and analysis.
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in Hotel Management, Business or a combination of these.
* Demonstrated track record of strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
* Ability to travel when needed to attend key client events.
* Ability to live and work within the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
* Multi-lingual extremely helpful.
