Role Overview
As a Senior Engineering Geologist, you will work within a dynamic team of Geo-environmental and Engineering Geologists. Responsibilities will include producing technical reports, such as Geo-environmental Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, Coal Mining Risk Assessments, grouting and earthworks specifications, and responding to regulator queries. While primarily office-based, the role will require site visits, client meetings, and occasional fieldwork.
You will also assist the department head with day-to-day management, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to their development.
Key Responsibilities
·Produce high-quality reports, including Geo-environmental Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, and Coal Mining Risk Assessments.
·Prepare tenders, specifications for grouting and earthworks, and validation reports.
·Supervise fieldwork operations, including logging boreholes and trial pits when required.
·Consult with regulators and address technical queries.
·Manage financial aspects of projects, including preparing fee proposals.
·Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Essential Criteria
·Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
·Proficiency in ground investigation techniques, soil/rock logging, scheduling laboratory tests, and preparing geotechnical and contamination remediation strategies.
·Excellent communication, delegation, and mentoring skills.
·Strong project and time management abilities.
·Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills
·Slope stability assessment.
·CLEA Risk Assessment.
·Groundwater DQRA expertise.
