Senior Process Safety Engineer The Senior Process Safety Engineer is responsible for delivering complex and challenging technical process safety solutions to clients in the form of standalone consultancy, acting as subject matter expert across a range of projects and technical areas and for guiding and checking the technical solutions of more junior Engineers as necessary, on time and budget and in accordance with all relevant Engineering and Company procedures. Key responsibilities include: Conducting Process Safety activities, e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, SWIFT, LOPA, SIL, ATEX, DSEAR etcetera Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects of projects are maintained to relevant acceptable standards Assisting in setting HSE criteria for projects and in the preparation and content of the Process Safety Plan and Environmental Plan Acting as HSE expert for all projects, supporting project management and engineering disciplines with Process Safety concerns and queries Gathering & compiling Process Safety and Environmental information Establishing risk tolerances Preparing Process Safety Basis of Safety Devising suitable and sufficient Hazard Studies to meet client requirements Conducting Process Safety Reviews such as Human factors, Hazardous Area Classification, Inherent Safety, Alarm Prioritisation Maintaining Process Safety documentation for projects Supporting the Business Development team on sales visits, conference calls and/ or client meetings Leading and supporting the production of compelling and competitive proposals Essentials: Hazard Study Leadership LOPA Study Leadership Functional Safety Leadership SIL Determination (Risk, Graph, LOPA) Hazardous Area Classification and DSEAR ALARP demonstration Process Safety Legislation knowledge Environmental Legislation knowledge Process Safety Management Systems Environmental Management Systems Fire and Explosion Analysis Fire Design / Fire Reports Technical Requirements: Keep up-to-date with latest industry standards and technology Will share knowledge with more junior members of department, and support continuous improvement through project close out processes, lessons learnt and sharing learnings with the wider engineering community Be familiar with all relevant engineering and design software, with a good understanding of the availability and use of all relevant electronic tools and software Full awareness and understanding of the content of the Engineering Procedures, and their practical application
