NMBS, the UK's leading buying society for independent builders', plumbers', hardware, and timber merchants, is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their team as an IT Apprentice. Established in 1963, NMBS supports over 1,250 independent merchant members across more than 5,000 branches. As a first line IT Apprentice your role will be to provide support for basic day to day Technical Support issues and quires.These will be raised via the NMBS IT Service Desk automated ticketing system web app, telephone calls or in person from other NMBS Team Members. You will also help with the installation and configuration of new and existing systems within the Society, in line with the businesses strategic objectives. In this role, youll work towards your Level 3 IT qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. What you will do: Provide Technical IT Support Utilize IT service Management Tools (ITSM) to log, track and resolve incidents as well as request efficiently Maintain LAN, WAN equipment for new & existing systems, including software updates and upgrades. Support and maintenance for all IT hardware & software, including servers, PCs, laptops, networking, printers, etc. Manage and support tele-communications system and environment. Provide adequate backup of systems Support users within a cloud environment. Here's what makes this role truly special: £19,500 per annum Monday to Friday either 07:30 to 16:00 or 08:30 to 17:00 1 hour lunch break Office based 20 days holiday plus bank holidays Christmas shutdown Regular company event s Desired Skills and Knowledge: Passion for IT Basic knowledge of Microsoft Operating System Basic knowledge of Office 365 applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc Basic knowledge of Apple MacOS and iOS Basic knowledge of standard Anti-Virus & Firewalls Patience and professionalism when assisting end users Ability to meet deadlines Willingness to learn new skills using own initiative Excellent inter-personal skills A grade 4/C at GCSE in Maths and 5 in English Your Training with Baltic: This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Apprentice.
