Job Overview:
This Business Development Manager role is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with existing and potential clients, selling our range of industrial communication and automation technology solutions in the defined market sectors above. The role requires a strategic thinker with a technical background who can understand complex OT/IT solutions and communicate their benefits to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategy:
Identify and target new business opportunities in OT/ IT environments and related technology sectors.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the client base.
Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Identify client needs and work with technical teams to provide appropriate solutions.
Technical Sales:
Present and demonstrate OT/IT products and services to potential clients, explaining the technical aspects clearly.
Develop and deliver technical proposals, presentations, and customized solution pitches.
Work closely with our major Suppliers to ensure the feasibility of solutions and manage client expectations.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
Prepare and manage sales forecasts, pipelines, and reports.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to project delivery.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work with our marketing team to create and execute lead generation campaigns.
Evaluate potential new products and technologies to augment or replace existing products and services in our current portfolio.
Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote the company's offerings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the Automation/OT/ Technology related industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Industrial Automation and communication technologies, ideally with an emphasis on Wireless/RFID technology and OT cybersecurity.
Ability to translate technical concepts into easily understandable language for clients.
Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Remuneration & Benefits:
Business Development Manager
£45,000 - £50,000 basic salary per annum
Plus a 0.5% of company revenues
